The problem was Tucker couldn't make up his mind about what kind of steering wheel he wanted in the car, and they needed to get wheels in the car quickly for testing purposes, so Alex Tremulis called his friends at Ford and asked them if they had any they could use. The guys at Ford had some leftover of from a Lincoln Zephyr model (I think that's the one) and they gave them to Tremulis on the condition that they be destroyed when they were done with them.maine man wrote:I have read that Tuckers horn buttons were held up by the manufacturer, and someone high up at Ford "lent" him ford horn buttons, with the promise to destry them, and replace with tucker buttons on the production cars. When I went to se dave cammacks 3 Tuckers 1001,1022,1026 all 3 had different suspension parts of different size, and even a different wheelbase was a result of early design changes. I wish Dave hade access to the internet, he is, and has, a welth of information.
